Binary Birthday Badge

This is a birthday badge that displays the wearer’s age in binary using 8 LEDs.

You can set the age using the two buttons on the back of the badge. One button increases the age, and the other decreases it, with the current age displayed in binary on the front.

Above each LED is a subtly raised number showing that LED’s decimal value, making it easier to read without distracting from the design.

The badge runs on a single CR2032 coin cell battery, keeping it small and lightweight. 1 × CR2032 battery is required to power the badge and is not included.

If you need help converting an age to binary, you can use the converter below. Just enter your age, or the age of the recipient, and it will show you the binary representation in both numbers and lights. Clicking on the LEDs will toggle them on and off, so you can convert the other way if you want.
